Obituary for Jim Cutberth Jim Cutberth, two weeks shy of his 86th birthday, passed away on May 10, 2018 at Methodist Germantown Hospice care. Known to many as the “candy man”, Jim never met a stranger. Whether it be the store, bank, casino or doctor’s office, he would greet you with a Werthers.

Jim was born on May 26, 1932 in Middleton, TN to the late Claude and Mary Addie Cutberth. In the early 1950’s he moved to Memphis. It was there he married Mary Ruth Chunn and lived for more than 50 years raising two daughters.

He was an Electrician and member of the IBEW local 474 for 60 years. In 1997 he retired and moved to Sardis, MS. After the passing of his wife of 62 years in 2016, Jim was never the same.

Jim leaves behind two daughters Linda Stolting (Ken) of Mt. Juliet, TN, Melissa Drum (Doug) of Bartlett, TN; four grandchildren, Heather, Joel, Justin and Callie; one great grandchild, Cooper; two brothers David Cutberth of Wisconsin and Herman Cutberth of Middleton, TN. Besides his parents, Mr. Cutberth was preceded in death by one brother, Wilford and three sisters, Judy, Bo, and Rosie.
