OBITUARY Jim Rose April 30, 1964 – July 22, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Considered a brother by many and a great friend to most who knew him, Jim will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Jim was a fierce stomach cancer warrior who battled the beast for longer than doctors predicted. He is now on an everlasting fishing trip in heaven where he will always win the bet for the biggest, most, and first fish caught.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Leo James and Diana Morash Rose. Jim is survived by his wife of 32 years, Patti, daughter Meghan, daughter-in-law Amanda, and granddaughter Taylor, daughter Kelli, son-in-law Josh, granddaughter Sawyer, and grandson Greyson, brothers Guy and Lee, and numerous extended family members. Jim worked since a teenager in the printing industry.

He began his printing career while attending Widefield High School and obtained a Graphic Arts degree from Pikes Peak Community College while working full-time in his field. Jim took great pride in his work and was considered one of the finest press operators in Colorado Springs. An avid motorcycle enthusiast, Jim spent many summer weekends with family and friends riding dirt bikes on various trails in the region.

On weekdays, he would often commute to work on his Harley. Among his other interests were camping, fishing, hunting, four wheeling, metal detecting, cycling and running. He completed the Pikes Peak Ascent several times and considered it “his mountain” with his best time of 3:44!

Most who know him will agree that he was a very talented photographer. His great passion for photography showed in the beautiful works of art that his lens produced. Jim would not want us to mourn his passing.

He would want us to celebrate his life. So, in lieu of flowers, please do something you are passionate about. Spend time with the ones you love.

Take your sweetheart out for night on the town. Take time to watch the sunrise and sunset. Enjoy each day as the gift it is.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 2pm at Swan Law Funeral Directors.
