OBITUARY Jim Specht October 20, 1945 – December 17, 2018 James Robert Specht, 73, of Security, went home to be with the Lord on December 17, 2018. He has been a resident of Security, Colorado for 41 years. James was born in Los Angeles, California on October 20, 1945 to Robert and Florence (Shafer) Specht.

James was married on February 14, 1976 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Meredith (Merry) Louise Howard. James was a proud U.S. Marine and served in the Vietnam War. He received the Purple Heart.

In his civilian life, he was a machinist. Due to medical problems, he had to retire from Atlas Pacific after 19 years. He previously worked at AMI for 10 years.

James is survived by his wife Merry, two daughters Jamie (Chad) Goodell of UT and Amy (Travis) Myers of CO; three step children-Tamara Gamble and Thomas (Amanda) Gamble of CA and Timothy Gamble of AK; 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; a sister Joyce Edmondson of NV. James was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Patricia Smith and Sherrill Hansen of CA and three nephews. Service will be held at Swan Law with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetary.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim’s name to Make A Wish Foundation.
