Jim was born April 9, 1947, Shawnee, OK, and passed away in Spanaway, WA, on January 1, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Karen, his son Jim C. and granddaughter Elyse, and his brother Tim and nephews Timothy and Jeffrey. Jim lived life to the fullest; he loved Harley-Davidson motorcycles, aviation, travel, music and reading.

He shared his passion for riding and knowledge America’s backroads with many members of the Tacoma chapter of the Harley Owners Group. The road trips… Read More » he planned and lead throughout the northwest are fondly remembered by his friends, earning Jim the nickname “Price of Pavement”. Jim worked in the Tacoma-area floor covering sales industry for decades, where we gained many loyal clients who valued his honesty and integrity.

Jim had the ability to connect with anyone, and he had many friends from all walks of life. Jim’s sharp wit, empathy for others, and passion for life made him popular wherever he went. Jim served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1965-68.

Jim bravely battled multiple myeloma for the past six years, and his family would like to thank the Seattle V.A. Hospital for his cancer care, where he was always treated with dignity and compassion. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 1:00 pm.
