Jimmy Earl Goodhart February 13, 1940 – May 14, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Services for Jimmy Earl Goodhart, 79, of Jacksonville, IL, formerly of Perry, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2019 at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Vandalia with Brother Kenny Haddock officiating. Burial will be in Wolfe Cemetery in Perry. Visitation will be from Noon until the time of the service at the funeral home Friday.

Mr. Goodhart passed away at 8:24 p.m. May 14, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL with his family at his side. He was born the in Perry on February 13, 1940, the ninth son of Bill and Bessie Krigbaum Goodhart. Survivors included: one son, Rick Goodhart of Vandalia; one sister, Shirley Elliott of Bowling Green; a special companion, Donna Cockerill of Jacksonville, IL; her son, Marty Cockerill of Jacksonville, IL; her daughter, Teresa (Mike) Tendrick of Naples, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters. Mr. Goodhart was primarily a lifetime area resident, but spent time in Jacksonville, IL and Naples, FL. He was a Christian by faith and a graduate of Perry High School.

He worked for 23 years as a brick setter for C.E. Refractories. He loved hunting, fishing, games of chance and spending time with family and friends. Pallbearers will be Marty Cockerill, Dustin Pennell, Merle James, Larry Nation, Marty Nation and Sam Chatman.
