Obituary for Jimmy Noel Wilson Jimmy Noel Wilson, 64, passed on from this life into the next on June 25, 2018 after a valiant two year battle with cancer. He was born on January 24, 1954 to Noel & Lois Wilson in Jacksonville, AR. He met June, his wife of 39 years, when they both worked at Systematics.
They were married on Friday, October 13, 1978, and settled in North Little Rock, AR where they raised two children. Jim always thrived in his work, becoming Systematics’ Senior Vice President before it became Alltel, where he rose to become the President of the International Division, a position he maintained through the acquisition of Alltel by Fidelity Information Services. At the time of his death, Jim was the CEO of Saratoga Financial Systems, where he was responsible for the growth of Saratoga Financial’s business.
In over 30 years of working in the US and International software and services business, Jim traveled all over the world, establishing relationships with people and companies in Europe, Asia and South America. He and June even made their home in London for a season. Though he enjoyed great success in business, Jim’s greatest accomplishment was his unfailing love for his family.
Jim’s whole life was characterized by the deep love he had for his family and friends. Whether it was cheering on the Hogs at a game or watching the races at Oaklawn, Jim loved nothing more than being surrounded by those he loved. He relished being a part of both his North Little Rock and Hot Springs communities in the years that he split time between the two towns.
Jim kept his calendar full of travel both to familiar places he loved and to new locations. He loved the serene wine country of California, the vibrant life of Las Vegas and the views at Lake Tahoe in every season. He and June returned to these favorite places many times, visiting friends or taking their family.
Jim loved to share his discoveries of special places with others, whether it was a new restaurant, a noteworthy show or an outstanding view. Jim and June also loved cruising, both together and with their family. They traveled last year to Breckenridge with all their children and grandchildren for Christmas.
After a trip, Jim was always glad to come home to Arkansas. He spent many happy hours on boat rides at Lake Hamilton, frequently teaching one of his children or grandchildren how to drive the boat, or pulling them and their friends and cousins behind the boat in a tube. He could often be found in the evenings watching the sunset from his balcony with a good cigar and a glass of Pinot Noir.
Even on Memorial Day weekend of this year, Jim did not let his battle with cancer keep him from sitting at the helm of his boat one last time. For his family, that day out on the water is a perfect picture of the way Jim chose to live every moment he had on this earth to the fullest, choosing to see obstacles not as limitations but as challenges to be overcome. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Merwin Wilson, and his sister Delores Wilson Bowman.
He is survived by his wife June Wilson, his sister Linda Wilson Hamlett and nieces and nephews, children Eddie Craven and wife Amanda, Whitney Loibner and husband Peter and grandchildren Wilson, Dylan, Campbell and Reese.
