Obituary for Jo Ann Newman Jo Ann Hodge Newman, 84, widow of James B. Newman, passed away December 1, 2018. A native of Greenville County, daughter of the late Leonard E. and Pearlene Riggins Hodge, she was a homemaker and a member of Apalache Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth “Beth” Kay (Wayne) of Greer and Diane McDonald (Lewis “Buck”) of Wellford; two sons, Daniel “Danny” Newman (Monica) of Inman and James B. “Bo” Newman, Jr. of Pickens; a sister, Louise Houston of Greer; thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Butch Howard. Burial will follow Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 12:30-1:45 p.m. Tuesday at The Wood Mortuary. The family is at the home of her daughter, Beth Kay. Memorials may be made to Homestead Hospice, 109 Laurens Road, Suite A, Greenville, SC 29607.
