Joan’s Obituary Joan B. Messer, 69, passed away on Thursday March 7, 2019 with her family by her side. She was born July 14, 1949, in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Mabel I. Braddy and Charles B. Braddy. Joan was a homemaker and a dedicated mother.

She grew up and lived in Charlotte, where she met her husband, David Messer. They were married for 49 years and raised their son, David Messer, Jr. Joan was an influence to many people, known for her caring and sweet hearted character. Joan loved being around her family, including her 4 sisters, brother, husband, son, daughter-in-law, and grandkids.

She loved to cook and enjoyed taking care of the nature in her back yard. Joan’s pride and joy were her two grandkids. She was always a loving and compassionate caregiver to them.

She will be remembered for the stories she loved to tell, her kindness, the love she showed to everyone around her, and being a huge fan of Elvis. Joan is survived by her loving husband of forty-nine years, David Messer; son, David Messer, Jr. and wife, Ashley; her four sisters, Jinny, Faye, Geraldine, Jane; brother, Jerry; and grandchildren, Ethan and Chase. She was predeceased by her parents, Mabel Irene Braddy, and Charles Boyce Braddy.

Memorial Donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Lake Norman. Arrangements will be held private by the family.
