Joan Branich, December 11, 1923 — February 04, 2019

Joan’s Obituary Joan Branich a long time resident of the San Gabriel Valley and most recently Orange County, passed away at the age of 95 on Monday February 4, at home with her loving family at her side. Born in 1923 in Buffalo, NY, Joan Woodwards was raised with her two sisters and two brothers. The Catholic religion, school and hard work were a strong focus in her family and stressed by her loving mother (Hanorah) and Father (Alfred).

Joan traveled to California with her sister Theresa in her mid twenties where she found work supporting the war at Hughes aircraft and made Los Angeles her home. In 1950 she married the love of her life, John Branich. They lived in Inglewood, CA early on but moved to the San Gabriel Valley to raise their family of three children (Cathy, Tom and Janice).

Joan worked for an Ophtalmologist, (Dr Garland) for 25 years while being the best Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother any family could ever want. Joan was a devout Catholic, loved having family gatherings and was a great party planner. She was at all of her kids and Grandkids activities and enjoyed traveling.

Joan loved sunsets, the Dodgers, Lakers the beach and gardening. Above all else, she loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joan is survived by her daughters Cathy Wolff (Mel) her son Tom (Debi) and by her daughter Janice along with four grandchildren (Christopher, Nicholas, Courtney and Brian) and six great grandchildren (Katie, Nathan, Evan, Cole, Charlie and Channing) as well as her sisters Theresa and Alice and twenty one nieces and nephews.
