Joan C.’s Obituary Joan C. Schaltenbrand, 85, of Wexford went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 27, 2019. She is survived by her son, Bernard J Schaltenbrand, husband of Nancy (Donnelly) Schaltenbrand and daughter, Mary (Schaltenbrand) Allison, wife of Curtis R. Allison. She was the beloved Grandmother of Heidi (Schaltenbrand) Moeller, Erika Schaltenbrand, wife of Amir Homapoor, Troy Schaltenbrand, Greta Schaltenbrand, and their mother, Laura (Theobald) Schaltenbrand along with Great Grandson, Jackson Moeller.

She is also survived by her sister, Mary Lou (Haas) Kramer and was predeceased by her parents, John J. Haas and Catherine I. (Engle) Haas, her beloved husband, Bernard E Schaltenbrand, Jr., and her brother, John J. Haas. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. She was a graduate of Mt.

Alvernia High school in 1952. She met the love of her life in March of 1951, and married Bernard E. Schaltenbrand Jr. on August 21st, 1954 and they remained married 57 ½ years until his passing on March 12,2012. She filled her life with family and friends.

She enjoyed being a volunteer at Passavant Hospital in the Chaplain’s Office for many years. She and her husband were among the founding members of the Northway Christian Community in Wexford in 1981 where they met in a little room at the local restaurant called Mr. B’s. She and her husband, Ben, spent may years in service to their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at Northway Christian Community.

They served there together as Greeter and Usher and Deacons of the church. Together they touched many lives and cared deeply for the people around them. Joan loved the Lord.

She had a God given talent for making everyone feel special. She loved to bless people with her thoughtful cards and gifts. Her cards were always filled with scripture and sayings personally chosen for each recipient, that eased sorrow, encouraged the troubled or shared the Joy with those celebrating.

Joan was well loved and will be greatly missed. Her greatest joy – second only to the Lord, was her Grandchildren and Great Grandchild.
