Obituary for Joan Hubbell Carpenter Roppe JOAN HUBBELL CARPENTER ROPPE age 79 of Hopkins, MN formerly of St. Louis Park, MN. Joan was born on June 12, 1939 in Vinita, OK and grew up in Duluth, MN. She gradutated from Duluth East High School and from UMD.

Joan loved bowling and was in a league for 30 years. She also loved watching football, baseball, hockey and NASCAR. Joan worked for the St. Louis Park School District and retired in 2000.

She was a member of PROS (Park Retired Office Staff) and a member of The St. Louis Park Woman’s Club and a member of ASPCA. She also enjoyed working as an election judge at her local prescient. Joan had many health issues and numerous surgeries throughout her adult life, but always tried to keep an optimistic attitude.

She loved cats & dogs and had may through out her entire adult life up to the end. They were always a delight and comfort to her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hubbell and Margaret Carpenter.

She is survived by son: Samuel Roppe, Curtis (Peggy) Swayze; daughter Shannon (Ken) Day; step-children Gretchen (Rita) Jacobson, Michael John Roppe; grandchildren Jessica Reed, Michael Day & Ashley Day, Joseph & Samuel Swayze, Julie Anne (James) Stroda & 4 great-grandsons; life long friend Bill Lewis; brother James Hubbell (Faye) Carpenter; sister Suzanne (Fred) Gobel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital of Minneapolis or Autism Speaks of Minnesota. Memorial service Thursday, September 27th 1:00 PM with visitation 1 hour prior all at: www.
