Orland-Joan L. Michaud, 83 of Orland and formerly of Benton, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2019 at her residence. She was born in Augusta on August 16, 1935, the daughter of Richard and Ida B. (Ouellette) Lajoie. Joan was employed as a bus aide for the handicap and a cook for SAD #49 in Benton.

She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church, Waterville. Joan and her husband Norman owned and operated Hilltop Berry Farm in Benton, where she did everything from working the fields to… Read More » selling her berries and after their retirement, she and Norman build their beautiful home in Orland. Joan is predeceased by her parents; two sons, Norman Michaud Jr. and Mark Joseph Michaud.

Joan is survived by her husband, Norman Michaud, Sr. of Orland; her son, John K. Michaud and his daughter, Emily Michaud; her daughter, Kimberly Gagne and her husband, Paul and her son, Christopher Daniels; sister, Ann Marie Mathew; 4 other grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours, Mass of Christian Burial and burial will be scheduled in the spring. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm Street, Waterville.
