OBITUARY Joan Pringle Parker April 21, 1937 – July 11, 2018 Joan Pringle Parker, age 81, of Aurora, Colorado passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. Joan was born April 21, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio to William R. Pringle and Clare B. Pringle. She attended Shaker Heights public elementary and middle schools and graduated high school from Laurel School, a private girls school.

The family moved to Chagrin Falls, Ohio in 1950. They had horses and raised and showed Irish setters – the best being Heddy of Waycross and Sheila, together with a passel of cats. While in high school she worked part time for a veterinarian, but lost interest after a favorite cat died of serious wounds.

She attended the University of Colorado and was a member of the AOPi Sorority where she met her husband, Jim, who was a “hasher” and houseboy. They were married in Boulder in 1957 and moved to Cleveland in 1958. Together they reared four children: James W. IV (Jayne) of Highlands Ranch, CO, Kathleen “Kat” Cascone (Kim) of Pacifica, CA, Sharon “Boo” Phillips (Kip) of Mira Mesa, CA and William R. (Laura) of Sparks, NV.

They have 8 grandchildren. While in Shaker Heights, they attended Christ Episcopal Church which drove her Lutheran mother nuts! The Parkers returned to Colorado in 1975 via Greeley where Jim was VP-Real Estate at Greeley National Bank.

Joan owned and operated a ZIP’Z ice cream store and later managed the Greeley Cloth World store. They were active members of Trinity Episcopal Church. In 1992, Jim and Joan moved to Morrison and joined St. Nicholas Church.

In 2000, we followed now Bishop Ken Ross to help start New Hope Anglican Church which later led us to The Light of Christ Church where Joan helped establish the Daughters of the King chapter and became a chalice bearer. Joan loved the Lord and will be missed by those of us left behind! The 10:45 am church service at The Light of Christ Church on July 29, 2018 will be dedicated to her memory.

Inurnment will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday July 31, 2018 at Olinger Mt. Lindo Cemetery, 5928 S. Turkey Creek Rd, Morrison, CO 80465. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in Joan’s name to The Alzheimers Association-Colorado Chapter or to the Light of Christ Anglican Church (TLC).
