Obituary of Joan Marino Joan Faye (Cusick) Marino died peacefully on Thursday, December 13, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Gary, Indiana on August 14, 1936, the second child of John and Ruby Cusick. For most of her adult life, Joan lived in the Albany area where she started and ran a successful advertising agency, Marino Advertising, for many years.

Through sheer determination, Joan was able to turn her start-up, small business into one of the most successful media buying agencies in the Albany area. Joan’s other great passion was for travel and over the years she journeyed to interesting destinations throughout the world. Usually she travelled by ship and had the good fortune to find friendship with other like-minded adventurers going her way.

This shared experience was one of the many joys in her life and it seemed to her family that she was always planning the next voyage. The other great joy in her life was the time spent with her seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren who would light up when they saw her and were eager to share a kiss and a squeeze. And she was crazy about her little dog Teddy, who was a great and constant companion for the last years of her life.

Joan was predeceased by three sisters, Jane, Phyllis, and Trish. She is survived by her ex-husband, Dominick Marino, who remained her friend throughout their lives. She is also survived by her daughter Theresa and her husband Joseph of Waterford, NY, her daughter Susan and her husband Robert of Halfmoon, NY, her son Mike and his wife Sheila of Denver, CO, and her son Paul and his wife Deborah of Grand Blanc, MI.

In addition, Joan is also survived by her grandchildren Sean, Katie, Gabrielle, Abigail, Michala, Morgan and Alyssa and her great-grandchildren Mason, Camilla, Cullen and Brady; all of whom will miss her deeply. Memorial service will be held on Saturday Dec. 15, 2018 at 3:00 pm at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt.

9 Clifton Park, NY 12065. A calling hour will precede the service. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Best Friends Animal Society at 5001 Angel Canyon Rd.
