Joan Louise Cunningham, 86, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018 with her daughter Karen, sister Cheryl, and niece Terri by her side. She was born April 21, 1931 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, daughter of the late Roy and Mildred (Ashcraft) Gribben. At the time of her death she was living at the Ridgewood Nursing Facility in Lawrenceburg.

She enjoyed living there and made many friends. She especially loved playing the bingo games they offered. Joan was an avid reader of her Bible and she liked to journal.

She loved to be with her family. Her favorite thing to do was play the card game “Rook” and she took winning very seriously. She loved to go out to eat and whenever anyone took her she enjoyed the time immensely.

Her health wasn’t the greatest toward the end and the family could see it was taking its toll. She leaves behind her 2 daughters, Robin (John) Bauer; Karen (Richard) Dubs; grandchild, Ashlee Cunningham; 2 great grandchildren, Russell Cunningham, Avery Meyer; sister, Cheryl (Les) Simonton; niece, Terri (Frank) Jones; sister-in-law, Jane Gribben; many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. They will miss her very much.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Mildred Gribben; sister, Jean Walker; and her brother, Eldon Lawrence Gribben. Family and friends will be received on Monday, April 23, 2018 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Monday, April 23, 2018 at 1:30 pm, with Pastor Adam Gribben officiating.
