Obituary for JoAnn R. Ah Sam JoAnn “Jo” Ruth Ah Sam, age 44 of Oconomowoc, left our world and went to Heaven on Friday, June 29, 2018. Jo is survived by her loving husband of 20+ years, Dorien, her son DJ and daughter Faith. She is further survived by her parents James and Ruth Fillmore, sisters Tina Hunter and Kathy Cordova along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Jo was born in Cottonwood, CA. She excelled in sports throughout high school and was an All State athlete in basketball, softball and volleyball. Jo joined the military in 1993 as a Telecommunications Specialists for the US Army.

Her first tour of duty was in South Korea, followed by Fort Sill, OK and then Mannheim Germany. Jo was honorably discharged in 2000 with military accolades which included the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Overseas Ribbon, The German Silver Fordoche and Airborne Wings. She is a Lifetime member of the Oconomowoc Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2260.

JoAnn moved to the Oconomowoc area with her family in 2007 for her job. She was highly successful in the retail industry, beginning with Kohl’s, Burlington Coat Factory and ending her career as Vice President of Customer Relations with Roundy’s. A memorial service for Jo will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 with a visitation for family and friends starting at 3:00 P.M. until time of service at 5:00 P.M. with military honors, all to take place at Pagenkopf Funeral Home.

A Celebration of JoAnn’s life will follow immediately at the Oconomowoc VFW Post. JoAnn will be deeply missed by her family, friends and everyone that knew her. Jo touched many lives and will be in the hearts of many.
