Joanne K. Lovins, age 76, of Michigan and formerly of Castalia, passed away Saturday evening, March 9, 2019, at Admirals Pointe Nursing Home, Huron, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 19, 1942, in Castalia and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1960. Joanne attended Grace Lutheran Church, Castalia, and retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 plus years of service as a data processing clerk in the Sandusky and Michigan plants.

Joanne loved to go to theatre shows with her best friend Ruth and will truly miss her breakfasts with “The Breakfast Bunch”. She enjoyed traveling, going to the casinos, baking Christmas cookies every year, coloring eggs during Easter, and most of all, she enjoyed spending every moment with her family. She is survived by her step son Doug (Sherry) Lovins; two step grandchildren Hope and Robbie Lovins; brother William Scherz; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; and amazing neighbors and close friends the Magoons and Ruth Flynn.

Joanne was preceded in death by her husband Robert G. Lovins; parents Edward and Adeline (Wobser) Scherz; two sisters Jeri Noon and Marilyn Grahl; two brothers Edward Jr. and Robert Lovins; sister in law Ginger Scherz; and nephew Michael S. “Cork” Noon. A celebration of life will be Thursday, March 14, 2019, from 4-6 PM at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia.
