Preceded in death by parents Tony and Lauretta Charles and brothers Anthony and Tom. Survived by husband, Tim; daughter, Teresa (Steve Olson); son, Brian (Christine); and 4 grandchildren, Aidan Tierney, Bennet Tierney, Kyle Olson, Erik Olson; brother, Dennis and sisters, Rosemarie, Kathy, Marilyn; and many nieces and nephews.

Retired from teaching at St. Catherine University and Century College, Joanne was an avid gardener and loved entertaining for family and friends. She lived life full of love and devotion, in her teaching, for her family and friends, and in her faith. The family asks that you consider wearing something purple or Vikings garb to visitation at O’Halloran & Murphy Funeral Home (575 S. Snelling Ave, St. Paul 651/698-0796), 4-7 PM, Friday, January 25.

Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Saturday, January 26 at Assumption Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior to Mass. Inurnment at a later date. Memorials preferred to Fairview Home Hospice.
