Joanne W. Pisapia, age 79 of Dover, DE passed away at the Country Rest Home in Greenwood on March 28, 2019. Joanne, the daughter of the late Charles and Mae Wainwright was born May 28, 1939 in Berlin, MD. Mrs. Pisapia worked both for the State of Delaware and Kent County holding several managerial positions.

Her last before retirement was for the Division of Aging. In her free time she enjoyed painting and gardening. Joanne’s passion, however, was spending time with her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Pisapia, 3 brothers and a sister. She is survived by her daughters, Diana Maxson (Jeff) and Courtney Kaczka (Gene); stepson, Louis Pisapia, Jr. (Jane); grandchildren, Jesse Barden, Kaitlyn Brown (Erick), & Colby Kaczka, and Ryan (Sharon), Eric (Dana) & Beth Pisapia; sister, Frances Holloway, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends too many to mention. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life Saturday, April 6, 2019 from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm at the Dover Elks Lodge #1903, 200 Saulsbury Road, Dover, DE 19904 In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the SPCA.
