Joe Guillen passed away surrounded by his loving family on May 17, 2018 at his home in Gallup, New Mexico. He was 82. He was born on January 14, 1936 in Gallup, New Mexico to Jose Guillen and Guadalupe Cardona Guillen.

Mr. Guillen served in the United States Marines in Korea (1954-1957) He was the owner/operator of J and J Auto Service. He was recently working with Stoneweaver assembling jewelry. He was a devoted member of St. John Vianney parish.

He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 1783 and held the State Advocate position. He was active with Veterans Helping Veterans. He was a 3rd degree blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do.

He enjoyed playing baseball and going hunting with his brothers and grandsons. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was loved and will deeply be missed.

Mr. Guillen is survived by the love of his life Frances Guillen, on April 24, 2018 they celebrated 60 years of marriage. He is also survived by his children; Ted Guillen and his wife Trish. Patti Harper and her husband Steve and Josette Guillen.

Seven Grandchildren; Teddy Guillen, Christopher Guillen, Steven White Jr., Bryan Harper, Derek Harper, Daniel Montoya, and Jessica Montoya. Five great-grandchildren; Jett Guillen, Emmery Guillen, Axel White, Julianna White, and Genesis Baca. His siblings; Mary Harris, Rita Beltran, Herb Guillen, and Jerry Guillen along with numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Jose and Guadalupe Guillen. His siblings Greg Guillen, Lawrence Guillen, Pete Guillen, Tony Guillen and Carmen Lopez. On Tuesday May 22, 2018 at Sacred Heart Cathedral the Knights of Columbus will provide the Honor Guard, a Rosary will be recited at 9:00 am, then a Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Jim Walker at 10:00 am.

Interment will follow at 11:30 am at Sunset Memorial Park with Veterans Helping Veterans providing military honors. The family will receive family and friends at the Sacred Heart family center following services. Pallbearers include; Steven White Jr., Bryan Harper, Derek Harper, Teddy Guillen Jr., Christopher Guillen, and Daniel Montoya.

Honorary Pallbearers include; George Houser, Steve Harper and all of his McDonalds coffee buddies- Gene Pacheco, Freddy Carbajal, Tony Montez, Mike Muller, Nabor Martinez, and Randall Henry. Cope Memorial Chapel of Gallup is entrusted with arrangements.
