Joe Anne Duff Joey was born April 17, 1934 in Rouge River, Oregon to parents, Walter and Ruth Combs. She died on April 24, 2018 at Guardian Angel Homes in Hermiston at age 84. At the age of two, her family moved to California living in Wilmington, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Arkada, Weed, Bakersfield, Castro Valley, Hayward, Big Lagoon, Gualala, and Patrick’s Point, graduating from Pointe Arena High School.

Her family also lived a short time in Tonopah, Nevada. On June 10, 1952 after graduation, she married Robert (Bob) Duff in Cheyenne Wyoming while he was serving in the US Air Force. Bob joined an International Construction company after his military service which took Joey (family) to nine different states and South America.

She became an expert at moving before settling in the Hermiston area in 1977. Joey was a devout Christian and throughout the years was involved in numerous churches in Hermiston. She always wanted more in her relationship with God, never satisfied always wanting to be a better Christian and a beacon of God’s light for those she knew and those she would come in contact with.

Some described her as being exuberant about her relation with God. Throughout the years in Hermiston she was involved in Aglow, National Day of Prayer, Campus Life, Christian Athletes, See you at the Pole, feeding the homeless, and served as Good Shepherd Hospital Chaplain. She spent countless hours driving through Hermiston praying for revival.

Survivors include three daughters: Debby (Virgil) Culver of Goldendale, Washington, Laura (Larry) Harsin of Pendleton, Oregon, and Lisa (Mike) Bunch of Kennewick, Washington. Twenty Five (25) grandchildren, Fifty Eight (58) great grandchildren, and Nine (9) great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, husband, and her only son Richard.

Celebration Services will be held Monday, May 7, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Hermiston Christian Center, 1825 W. Highland Ave. , Hermiston, Oregon Burial will follow at the Pleasant View Cemetery, Stanfield Oregon. The celebration will continue with a potluck at Hermiston Christian Center where there will be story sharing and music.
