Joe Mack McGlamory, age 92, of 94 Cade Street, Hartwell, died Friday, September 14, 2018, at Hartwell Health & Rehab in Hartwell. Born in Hawkinsville, he was the son of the late William Smith McGlamory and Susie Jane Fitzgerald McGlamory. He served his country with honor in the United States Navy and retired from Middle Georgia EMC.
Mr. McGlamory was a member of Omar Heights Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School and served as a Deacon and song leader. He was and avid baseball player and loved fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Ledford McGlamory and two infant daughters.
Survivors include: Daughters: Linda Kitchens (Ronnie) of Pelham Libby Williams (Tom) of Hartwell Sons: Johnny Mack McGlamory (Kathy) of Vienna Robin McGlamory (Edna) of Cordele Joey McGlamory of Marietta Grandchildren: 8 Great Grandchildren: 18 Great Great Grandchildren: 1 Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, September 18 in Bluff Creek Cemetery near Finleyson. The family will greet friends 6 – 8 PM Monday, September 17 at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
