OBITUARY Joe R. Leddy April 3, 1941 – July 23, 2018 Joe R. Leddy Jr. 77 of Bartonville passed away on Monday July 23, 2018. He was born to Joseph Raymond and Dorothy Marie (Johnson) Leddy Sr. in Peoria on April 3, 1941. Joe married the love of his life Linda English on June 13, 1964 in Peoria at Bethal Lutheran Church.

Joe Earned his GED while working for Caterpillar and retired in 1998 after 30 years of service. He was a part of the UAW 974 for many years and was proud of his union. Joe was also a member of Bartonville Christian Church and was a founding member of the Church Food Pantry.

His favorite pastime was watching his children and then his grandchildren participate in various sports and school activities. Joe loved mowing and even started his own mowing business that he operated for 10 years after his retirement from CAT. He didn’t know a stranger and he would start a conversation with anyone he met.

He always took care of others first and would be the first one to lend a helping hand. He is survived by his loving wife, his two children; Rhonda (Ric) Krupps, Malinda K. Leddy, two grandchildren; Kirsten L. and Kody M. Krupps, and three sisters; Beverly Harval, JoAnn Hall, and Cheryl (Mike) Scherer. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother James A. Leddy.

A visitation will be held 4:00-7:00pm on Friday July 27, 2018 at the Bartonville Christian Church. A funeral service will be held 10:00am on Saturday July 28, 2018 at the Bartonville Christian Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bartonville Christian Church Food Pantry.
