Obituary of Joe Ramsey Joe Edson Ramsey left this life on November 5, 2018 at the age of 69 at his home in Idabel, Oklahoma. Joe was born on April 22. 1949 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Woodrow Wilson (Woody) and Agnes Halfast Ramsey and was the youngest of three children.

A graduate of Idabel High School, Joe served four years in the United States Air Force including one year at U-Tapao airfield in Thailand in support of military operations in Vietnam. Following his military service, he spent over forty years working in the family business until retiring in 2015. Joe was an ardent supporter of Idabel’s sports programs as well as big college football fan and whenever possible set his schedule accordingly.

For several years he participated in the local summer baseball program serving as the president of the organization and coaching the Sioux T-ball team. Always up for a good debate, Joe enjoyed discussing politics, world affairs, the economy or even the weather. He made people laugh often and think outside the box.

Most importantly, Joe loved his family passionately with absolute commitment towards the best interest of those he loved and always went out of his way to be there when they needed him. Joe is survived by his two sons John H. Ramsey and Commander Douglas E. Ramsey, USN, and his wife, Summer; grandchildren Alexander, Tyler, Aubrey and Andrew Ramsey; sister, Rachel Seach; brother, John Ramsey and his wife, Ida; nephews, Dr. Bradford Ramsey and his wife, April and their sons, Henry and John, Edgar Ramsey and his wife, Susan and their daughter, Olivia and William Seach; a niece, Ramsey Seach Upham and her husband Chawn. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the funeral home.

Services will be at 10:00 am on Friday November 9, 2018 at the White Family Chapel in Idabel, OK. Interment at Denison Cemetery to follow. No flowers are requested.

The family suggests that any desired remembrances be made to local or favorite charities.
