A celebration of life for John A. Barty, age 79, will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday July 25th, 2018 at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville. Family and friends received Wednesday from 12 noon until time of service. John was born in Painesville, November 9, 1938 to Ernest and Marie (Sarna) Barty.
He passed away peacefully at his residence July 21, 2018 surrounded by his family. John was a lifelong resident of Lake County. He loved camping and spending time with his family.
His passion in life was fishing and storytelling. He loved to cook for others and enjoyed watching NASCAR and singing silly songs. He was a great family man and enjoyed every moment with his family.
He is survived by his wife Rebecca (Ferguson) Barty; sister, Marie (Bill) Brown; son, Dan Asuma; daughters, Johnna (Brian Wilson) Barty-McMillan, Michelle (Phil) Pete, Lisa (Jim Nebraski) Kowalczyk, Jessica (Derrick Brown) Asuma-Barty, Marissa (Jordan Perkins) Asuma-Barty; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his parents Ernie and Marie Barty; brother, Ernie Barty Jr.; daughter, Brenda (Kirkpatrick) Webb; and grandson, Todd Betti.
