John A. Ewald, 79, of Hermann, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Sunset Nursing Home, Union, Missouri. John was born in Hermann, Missouri on December 25, 1938, a son of the late John D. & Edna (Domke) Ewald. He was the husband of Dorothy “Dot” (Saunders) Ewald.

They were united in marriage on November 7, 1964, in Hermann, Missouri. Dot survives at their home in Hermann. John is also survived by their daughter, Kathy Ewald, of St. Louis, a daughter-in-law, Christy Ewald, of Union, Missouri, and by two grandchildren, Breanna & Ryan Ewald, both of Union.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Ricky Ewald. John served in the Missouri National Guard. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, in Hermann.

He ran a high lift dozer for 30 years, as a member of the Operating Engineers. In his free time he enjoyed farming and restoring old mustangs. No services will be held at this time.
