UTICA – Mr. John B.B. Banks, age 70, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2019 in the comfort of his home. Born in Oneida, NY on April 18, 1949, John was the son of the late Robert and Mildred (DeCresci) Banks. He was raised and educated in Oneida.

On December 7, 1985 he married the former Linda L. Dewhurst with whom he shared 33 years in a relationship built upon deep love and devotion for each other. John held various positions during his working years, but he was most proud of his job as Crossing Guard for the Utica City School District. He had a capacity for caring about all his family members.

He also had a great sense of humor and a very generous heart. He enjoyed horse racing and as a NASCAR fan, his favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt. He loved all sports, but he was particularly fond of Green Bay Packers football and Golden State Warriors basketball.

John is survived by his wife, Linda; and his stepchildren who he loved and helped raise: Brenda Booth and Louis Martinez, Loretta Booth, Thomas Booth, and Terry Booth; and his many special step-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his best buddy, Bob Rice. Visitation will be held Saturday from 3:00-4:30 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave.

John’s Celebration of Life will commence on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 at the funeral home immediately upon conclusion of visitation. Interment will take place at Norwich Corners Cemetery in Sauquoit at the convenience of the family. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Mr. John B.B.
