COPLEY TWP—John “Mouse” Maurer, 54, passed away suddenly of natural causes. He leaves this earth to join his parents Larry and Josephine and brother Greg. He was a proud father, devout Catholic, Akron University graduate class of 91, and distinguished member of Phi Kappa Tau.

Skilled with a wrench, quick with a joke, and always the life of the party, John left his mark across Barberton and touched the heart of everyone he met from here to his favorite fishing lake in Canada. John leaves behind a loving daughter Katie, his sisters Laura and Martha, his brother Fred and countless nieces and nephews who will all miss him dearly and cherish the great times had together. He will always be remembered as a man who valued his faith and his family above all.
