Obituary John Carl Maas, age 98 of Oconomowoc passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2019. John is survived by his 4 children John (Sandy), Dennis (Suzan), Patty (Marty), and Nancy, along with his 6 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, his brother Freddie (Elvira), among other relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife Beatrice Maas, sisters (Geneva, Gertrude, Lilly), brothers (Herb, Ray, Victor, Edgar, Martin), and his very special friend Arline Heini.

John joined the Army and served his country until June 4, 1947 when he was honorably discharged at Ft. Louis, Washington. It was during this time when he met his bride Beatrice and they started a family.

John started working for Pabst Farms from 1950 until 1980 when he retired. He and Beatrice lived in many places including Fond du Lac near his son John, and California with daughters Nancy and Patty. In 2001, after the death of his wife, John moved back to Wisconsin with the help of his son Dennis, who owns a trucking business.

John resided in Oconomowoc at Wilkinson Manor until his passing. He always enjoyed going to the YMCA where he held the water slide record by making 50 trips up and down the slide in 90 minutes at 87 years old. He also enjoyed spending time with his special friend Arline.

He loved getting together with his friends to play cards, especially sheepshead. He had a great sense of humor, loved life, and made all those around him laugh or smile. He will be dearly missed by his family and his friends.
