John Carter Preston Jr. (Johnny) from Springville, Utah passed away at his home peacefully from MS and problems that come from old age, on Thursday May 17,2018 Surrounded by his loving family. Dad was the son of John Carter Preston and Vera Snow Preston. He was the third of seven children and the only son.

He was born on September 16th 1931. The family grew up in Sunnyside, Utah and Dad graduated from Carbon High School. It was there that he met the love of his life Loretta Anderson.

On May 18™, 1951 they were Sealed for time and all eternity in the Manti Temple. After Dad and Mom got married they made their home in Sunnyside, Utah where he worked for Keiser steel. While in Sunnyside they had four sons Later while living in Vernal, Utah a daughter was born.

After the years in Sunnyside the family moved to Price, Utah, and then to Vernal, Utah. While in Price and Vernal Dad worked in the tire business. In 1966 they moved to Springville, Utah and it is there that they have remained.

Dad continued to work in the tire business. Dad and Mom loved the outdoors. And no matter where they lived they spent a lot of time in the mountains with us kids.

These trips were used to go Hunting, Fishing, and Camping while teaching all of us kids about all. Even as Dads’ health started to go decline, he was always with us when we were in the mountains or at the family cabin. He continued to spend time Camping and spending time in the family cabin up until his health got so bad that he just couldn’t do it anymore.

Dad was always strong in the LDS church and he loved the Lord. He was a man that always expressed his love of the Gospel to all. He really loved to teach principles to his children and grandchildren.

He also served in the church with many calling such as Stake Missionary, Ward Secretary, Seventy, and many other positions. Dad was preceded in death by his sweet wife Loretta Anderson Preston and both his parents and in laws,his son John Carter Rell Preston, daughter-in-law Diane Thorn Preston. Two of his sisters Ruth Sandall, and Betty Jean Preston.

He leaves a large posterity behind that exists of his children, JoNan Farrer Preston, Jeffery Lynn Preston, Michael Clark Preston (Teresa ), Alan Craig Preston ( Machelle), Carol Ann Preston ( Richard),32 Grandchildren, 76 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great great grandchildren. Sisters Ellen Kinyon, Estella Hobbs, Sharon Guymon, Faye Eller. The viewing will be held on Monday 21, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wheeler Mortuary at 211 East 200 South in Springville, Utah .

The funeral will be held at the LDS church at 355 East Center Street, in Springville, Utah starting at 11:00 AM. There will be an additional viewing prior to the funeral at the same LDS church. This will be held one hour before the funeral from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
