John Charles Reitzel, born November 6, 1960 in Madison, New Jersey, passed away unexpectedly on December 12, 2018. Loving husband of Debra Reitzel, cherished father of Jason Gregory Reitzel, Rebecca Lynn Reitzel, Katherine Marie Phillips, and Kelly Jo Kawelmacher, beloved grandfather of Ciara, Calena, Samantha, Jacob, and Cynthia Jo, dear brother of David (the late Bonnie) Reitzel and Stephen (Kathy) Reitzel, uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, and dear son of the late Robert and Jean Reitzel. John was a nationally known and well respected food scientist for 30 years.

He enjoyed going to the shooting range, hiking, biking, and cherished the time he spent with his family. The family of John will be receiving friends for a visitation at Shorten and Ryan Funeral Home – West Chester (8791 Cincinnati-Dayton Rd. , West Chester, OH 45069) on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM with a a memorial service to follow beginning at 1:00 PM.
