OBITUARY John Chester Thompson November 29, 1935 – November 17, 2018 John C. Thompson lived November 29, 1935 to November 17, 2018. Preceded in death by wife, Mary E. Thompson. Survived by wife, Evelyn Rathje Thompson; daughters, Sherry Thompson Harrold (Jim), Annette Thompson Benak, and Susan Thompson-Gaines (David); grandchildren, Ashlee Englund (Pete), Trevor Harrold (Elizabeth), Jordan Harrold (Zach), and Nathan Benak (Lyndsey); great grandchildren: Kemper and Tallis Englund, Hadley Jo Harrold, and Ryker and Keegan Benak; brothers, Jim Thompson (Jan), and Bill Thompson (Nancy); many nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

John was a great man. He was patient, gentle, kind, and generous. John touched countless lives with his enormous heart and compassionate spirit.

He was a proud owner of Thompson Roofing for over 40 years, a family business started by his father in 1950, which continues in the hands of his much-loved nephew Jeff. John was always there to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. His friends will remember him for his larger than life stories and generosity.

His family will remember him for his eternal optimism, patience, and love that he bestowed upon us all. We love you John/Dad/Grandpa/Great-Grandpa/Brother/Uncle/Friend. VISITATION: Tuesday, November 20, 5-8pm.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday, November 21, at 10:30am, with Interment to follow. All services at Westlawn-Hillcrest.
