John Cooper, age 83, of Hazlehurst, Georgia passed away on Friday February 15, 2019 at Hazlehurst Court and Care Center. Mr. Cooper was born on January 5, 1936 in Floyd County, Georgia the son of the late Grady and Maudie Deems Cooper. He was a farmer and of the holiness faith.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by three sisters, Barbara Ann Cooper, Mollie Carter and Elizabeth Benefield and a brother, Howard Cooper. Survivors include his brother, W. L. Cooper (Virginia) of Broxton, GA; sister, Bonnie Merritt (James) of Broxton, GA; special niece and nephew, Sheryl and Jackie Tipton; several other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday February 18, 2019 at 4:00pm at Broxton Church of God with Rev.

James Merritt officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6pm until 9pm at the funeral home.
