JOHN E. HAWKE JR. , 67, of Springfield, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday morning, November 30, 2018. He was born in Springfield on October 18, 1951, the son of John E. and Della (Fraley) Hawke Sr. John was a 1968 graduate of Graham High School where he played football.

John is survived by his mother, Della French of Springfield; the love of his life, Trina Hawke; sister, Sharon (Dale) Strader; and brothers, Wally (Becky) Hawke and Wilbur Hawke (Diana Daku). Also surviving are step-daughters, Ashli and Heather; grandchildren, Khloi, Tyson and Anastasia; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Fred and Cathie Maine; nieces and nephews, Tracey (Brad) Kennedy, Robert (Emily) Hawke, Amanda (Jody) Colwell, Leslie (William) Hawke, Brett (Jamie) Hawke, Tim (Shelly) Strader, Tammy (Tristan) Titterington, Jody (Brenda) Strader, Amanda (Duane) Stitzel, and Jared (Tara) Maine; several great nieces and nephews; and his beloved four-legged friends, Oliver, Phil and Lil Bit. He was preceded in death by his father.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Saturday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. A service in celebration of John’s life will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Phillips presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
