Mezzasalma, 88 of Monroe Township, NJ died Thursday January 24th at the Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Mr. Mezzasalma lived there until moving to the Ponds at Clearbrook community in Monroe Township in 1997. He was employed for many years as an insurance broker for Employers Insurance of Wausau in Queens, retiring in 1993.

Mr. Mezzasalma was a parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Township. He was past president of the Italian-American Club in the Ponds and past Treasurer of the Good Shepherd Catholic Club at his former parish, Good Shepherd RC Church, Brooklyn. Mr. Mezzasalma was predeceased by his wife Theresa Filiberto Mezzasalma in 2015.

Surviving are his four sons John and his wife Lynn of Farmingdale, NJ, Michael and his wife Sherri of Langhorne, PA, Robert and his wife Jean of Freehold, NJ and Richard and his wife Sandra of Morganville, NJ, twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Services will begin 10:15 a.m. Monday January 28th at the Lester Memorial Home 16 W. Church St., Jamesburg followed by an 11 a.m. funeral liturgy at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Township. Visiting hours for family and friends will be Sunday 2-6 p.m. and Monday 9:15-10:15 a.m. at the funeral home.
