MADDEN, Sr., John Edward “John L.”, age 84, born June 21, 1934 in Dayton, Ohio, departed this life July 13, 2018 surrounded by his family. He attended Roosevelt High School, served in the U. S. Navy and retired from GM Truck & Bus. Preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Etta Geneva Madden; grandson, John E. Madden III.

He leaves to cherish his memory a son, John E. Madden II; daughters: devoted daughter Tressa Madden Wimberley, Belinda Madden, Brenda Madden, Memphis, TN, Debra Madden; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren; John L. will be greatly missed by dear friends, Richard E. Gray Jr., Lee Johnson and Bertha Taylor and family. Service will be held 11 am Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Visitation 9-11 am.

Family will receive friends 10-11 am. Interment 10:15 am Monday, July 23, 2018 at Dayton National Cemetery.
