MADISON-John F. “Jack” Zirngible, age 70, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019 at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born on Oct.

29, 1948, in Eau Claire, the son of Lawrence and Agatha (Niggemann) Zirngible. Jack graduated from Regis High School in Eau Claire. Jack worked for many years as a carpenter, specializing in drywall installation, retiring in 2008.

He was a proud member of Carpenters Local Union No. 314. He was a longtime member of Skilaufers, loved playing pickleball, volleyball,… Read More » and in later years bridge, euchre, and sheepshead.

As a child, Jack had a passion for ski jumping and attended Nationals. Jack had a big heart and his family was very important to him. He never missed a family reunion, graduation, or any family gathering.

He spent many hours doodling, drawing, and playing board games with his granddaughter. He was proudly the undefeated champion of Quoridor. Jack is survived by daughter, Laura (Rob Summerbell) Zirngible; two sons, Johnny (Christine), and Anthony: grandchildren, Lilah Summerbell, and Mabel, Quinton, and Agatha; brothers, Mick (Sue), Ron (Laura), Dan (Gail), Jack (Mary Faltinosky), and Bob (Cindy); sisters, Jane (Dean) Acheson, Ruth (Emil) Meindl, and Theresa (Derek) Johnson; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by parents, and his brother, Bill. A memorial gathering will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 2950 Chapel Valley Rd, Fitchburg, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019.
