Obituary for John F. Korosec Sr. John F. Korosec Sr., age 90, of Euclid, passed away on June 12, 2018. He was born in Cleveland, on August 1, 1927, to Joseph and Helen Korosec (both deceased). John retired as a U.S. postal mail carrier in Cleveland.

He was a U.S. Army veteran on active duty during WWII and a U.S. Combat Veteran in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Honor Guard at Arlington Cemetery. John was in the Army Reserves, actively for over 30 years.

He was a founding member of the VFW Post 1056 and a member of the American Legion in Euclid. He was a Huron Road Hospital volunteer in the ER. John was an avid military history buff and a collector of military memorabilia.

He was a frequent traveler and enjoyed his many meals at Adam’s restaurant in Euclid. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed. John is survived by his loving children, Mary Korosec, John (Maureen) Korosec Jr. and Helen Petersburg, his grandchildren, Erik, John III, Caroline, Dan and Becca, his great grandchildren, Caius and Olyvia, his sister, Helen Husky and his longtime companion, Sherri Heslin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carole Zivoder, his granddaughter, Crystal and his brother, Joe. A Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 7 pm at Monreal Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 3-7 pm at the Monreal Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd.
