JOHN FRANKLIN DAVIS, 74, of Piedmont, suddenly passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. Born in Goshen to H.O. and Sara Stewart Davis, he was a graduate of Jacksonville State University with a BS degree in Accounting. He was retired from the State of Alabama Internal Revenue Service but continued serving his community as a tax accountant.

He proudly served his country in the US Army and earned the National Defense Service Medal. His hobbies included fishing and collecting fishing lures. In 1989, he married Margie Maddox and was a devoted husband.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jean Davis Studdard. Survivors include two daughters: LeAnne Dickeson (Matthew Creel) and Michelle Byers; wife: Margie Davis; stepchildren: Jenny Hollomon (Jimmy Finch) and Jerry Dale and Lori Hollomon; brother in law: Hugh Studdard; nephew: Byron Studdard; niece: Angela Deaver; grandchildren: Trent Dickeson, Hali Dickeson, Christa Smith, Jerry Dale Hollomon, III, and Alex R. Hollomon. Funeral service will be Monday, October 8 at 1:00 p.m. from Dansby Heritage Chapel with military honors following at Goshen Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 7 from 6-8 p.m. at Dansby Heritage Chapel. Dansby Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the Davis Family.
