John G. Lyons John G. Lyons, 87, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2019. A lifelong resident of Ashtabula, he graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1949. After graduation he served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany during the Korean War.

He worked for 28 years at General Tire, then as a crossing guard for Ashtabula Area City Schools for 17 years. John was a faithful member of the Ashtabula Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 40 years. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Marilyn (Bliss), his 2nd wife, Shirley (Williams), and his sister, Barbara Dennis (Lyons).

He is survived by 2 brothers, Jerry and Dale Lyons, and his son, John J. Lyons and daughter, Kimberly S. Curry (Lyons). A memorial service commemorating John’s life will take place on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 5 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3420 S. Ridge Rd. W. in Ashtabula.
