John’s Obituary John joined his wife, Barbara, in heaven Jan. 24, 2019. He was born at old St. Joseph’s Hospital in Vancouver, WA, the son of Peter Crowley and Ethel Whitney.

Jack worked for the SP&S Railway, eventually becoming a Journeyman Freight Car Repairman. In June 1956, Jack left the railway and entered civilian employment with the Washington Army National Guard as a Unit Technician. He was employed with the WARNG in Vancouver and Camas WA until July 1971 until he transferred to civilian status for the Army Reserve in Vancouver.

Jack worked at the USAR School and 45th Station Hospital until he retired in July 1989 as a Supervisory Staff Administrator and Command Sargent Major. He belonged to an Irish club and enjoyed coffee with his classmates and army buddies. Jack is survived by his brother, Tom Crowley; son, John Crowley; daughter, Joan Wickenhagen; grandchildren, Josh Crowley, Grant and Mollie Wickenhagen; and great-granddaughter, Summarah.

His presence will be missed, but his memory will live on. The services for Jack will be at 11a.m., Feb. 8th at First Christians Church, 111 West 19th St., Vancouver, WA 98660, followed by a military internment at 1:30p.m. at Vancouver Barracks Post Cemetery, next to St. James Cemetery, 4th Plain & ’L’ St., Vancouver, WA 98663.
