John H. Richardson March 01, 1936 – May 26, 2019 Sign Guestbook John H. Richardson, 83, Grandview, Missouri, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO, with burial following in Glenwild Cemetery, Cleveland, MO. The family will receive friends 1:00-2:00pm on Thursday at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice, The American Diabetes Association or Glenwild Cemetery. John was born March 1, 1936 at the family home in West Line, Missouri, a son of Clifford Percy and Martha Irene (Gallamore) Richardson. John was a lifelong area resident and a 1953 graduate of Freeman High School, Freeman, MO.

He was an Army Veteran. John was united in marriage to Nancy Randolph on June 3, 1961 in Miami, Oklahoma, and they had lived in Grandview for forty six years. John worked for General Motors/AC Delco Battery Plant in Olathe, Kansas for 43 years, retiring in 1998.

He was a member of UAW Local #1041. John was well known in the local country music scene, playing the guitar, singing and writing songs. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Craig; his parents; three brothers, Bud Richardson , Gene Richardson, and Bob Richardson; and five sisters, Evelyn Moul, Betty Freeman, Martha Lyon, Pat Seacrest, and Marcella Cross.

John is survived by his wife, Nancy, Grandview, MO; a son, Mark Richardson, Belton, MO; a daughter, Terri Jo Richardson, Grandview, MO; two brothers, Jessie Richardson (JoAnn), Cleveland,MO, and Larry Richardson (Linda), Belton, MO; one sister, Mary Jane Ullery (Glendon), Lee’s Summit, MO; and one granddaughter, Ava Grace Richardson.
