CARTWRIGHT, Jr., John Harold, age 67, of Dayton, born November 1, 1950 in Chattanooga, TN, departed this life Friday, August 31, 2018. John graduated from Nettie Lee Roth High School, Class of 1969, received a degree of completion in carpentry from Model City Trade School and went on to own his own trucking company. John enjoyed playing card games, all sports, and most of all he loved family.

John was kind, compassionate and generous. Preceded in death by his parents, John Cartwright Sr. and Catherine Cartwright Harger (Booth); son, Lamont Pierce; sisters, Sharon Cartwright, Stephanie Parker; special friends, Quience, Roscoe, Sam, Carter, Muckle and Pay-pay. John leaves to cherish his memory his beloved aunt, Geraldine Starks; sons, John H. Caesar, David Cartwright; daughter, Veronica Caesar Pope; sisters, Iris Jackson (Teddy), Atonnavie Cartwright, both of Indianapolis, IN, Patricia Earley, Teresita Casey (Donald), both of Clearwater, FL; grandchildren, Aijen’A, David, Tayloir, Javairia, Azhani, Abrionne, and Quincy; great grandchildren, Christian and Avery; mothers of his children, Tonya Johnson (James), Joyce Olgletree (Mallalieu), Stacy Clark; special friends, Donald Casey, Maurice Wade, James Smith, Luther Draper, Ronnie Miliner; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; Funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave.

Rev. Raleigh Thornton, Jr. officiating. Visitation 9 am Saturday at the funeral home until time of service.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment West Memory Gardens.
