John Howard Carlson, 69, of Kittanning, died Saturday June 9, 2018. He was born April 3, 1949, in Evanston, Ill. , to the late Helen Rebecca (Forsha) Carlson Piper and Lester Howard Carlson.

He retired from sales and advertising. John enjoyed photography, canoeing, books, computers, antiquing, and traveling. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Sandra L. Carlson, of Kittanning; son, Joshua D. Carlson of Pittsburgh; daughter, Rebecca Dill and husband, Andy Dill, of Springdale; granddaughter Ava Dill, of Springdale; sister Sally Edwards and husband, Walt Edwards, of New Jersey.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends will be received Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning. A funeral mass will follow on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church in Kittanning with Father Douglas E. Dorula officiating.
