Jack grew up in St. Paul the youngest of 6 children, graduated from St. Mark’s Catholic School and Cretin High School, attended St. Thomas College and earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota. Jack was a lifelong 3Mer; his 42-year career began in Southern CA and continued in Cottage Grove MN and 3M Center in Maplewood MN. He and Jeanette married in 1947, raised 8 children in St. Paul and enjoyed many retirement winters in Mesa AZ.
Jack, known to some as “Happy Jack”, was an avid sports fan who loved singing, crossword puzzles, playing golf, bridge, table tennis and coaching youth baseball. He and Jeanette especially enjoyed hosting and attending gatherings with friends and family, particularly summer parties, family songfests and with social clubs such as El Torez. Jack was devoted to his Catholic faith and enjoyed the friendship of fellow Cretin alums and parishioners at St. Pascal’s, Holy Spirit and Lumen Christi Catholic communities where he and Jeanette were active members.
At Episcopal Homes he enjoyed many group activities including bridge, the Sage Singers, the crossword puzzle team and the Resident Council. He will be dearly missed. The family would like to thank the residents and staff at Episcopal Homes in St. Paul for their kind care and support of Jack over the last several years.
