John “Jack” W. Lord, age 74 of East Deer Twp. formerly of Portland, Maine, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 24, 2019. He was born November 15, 1944 in Natrona Heights, and was the son of the late Charles F. and Ruth (Rinker) Lord.

Jack was a retired consultant in finance, in the banking industry for 20 years. He was a graduate of Vermont College and received his Master’s degree from Boston University. Jack enjoyed history, science and was a lifelong reader.

He leaves behind a legacy of people who always learned something from him, whether they wanted to or not. He is survived by his sisters, Rev. Janet F. Lord of Creighton and Karen E. (Russell) Goff of Charleston, WV; a nephew, Timothy Sladisky and a niece, Megan (Jason) Workman; two great-nephews, Carter and Cooper Workman.

Per Jack’s request, there will be no visitation or service. Memorial contributions can be made to Springdale Free Public Library.
