Brittan of Schoolcraft, passed away Thursday February 28, 2019 at home. John was born March 12, 1929 in Chicago, IL the son of Charles and Willys (Gearhart) Brittan. He was a graduate of Northwestern University and Andrews University and taught in the St. Joseph Public Schools, Lake Michigan College and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
John enjoyed electronics for which he received several Patents. On November 1, 1952 in St. Joseph, John was united to the former Velma K. Buller who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Jeffrey (Karen) Brittan of Kalamazoo, Jerry (Kathy) Brittan of Mattawan; five grandchildren, Jason, Sarah, Michael, Kevin, Luke; several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Brittan and a sister, Willys Brittan. Private family services will be held. Interment will be in Mt.
Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Michigan. Arrangements by Redmond Funeral Home, Kalamazoo.
