Obituary for John Madison Warren John Madison Warren, a resident of Wynnewood, OK, was born May 19, 1938 in Drumright, OK to Cecil and Gaskill Warren. He passed away in Pauls Valley, OK on December 5, 2018 at the age of 80 years 6 months and 16 days. He attended Drumright Public Schools until the 7th grade when he moved to Maysville, OK.

In Maysville, he played on the state championship football team. After graduating in 1957 he joined the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Lake Charles, Louisiana then Albuquerque, New Mexico where he served until being discharge in 1961.

He began working in Oklahoma City at the AT&T plant in late 1961. On June 10, 1962 he married Maynita Richardson from Wynnewood, OK, they were married at the First United Methodist Church in Wynnewood. John and Maynita have been married for 56 years.

John moved his family to Wynnewood where they made their home. John continued to work for AT&T traveling the world to establish new manufacturing plants. After retiring in 1996 John became active in the Wynnewood community, serving as mayor from 1999 to 2007.

As mayor he served on the board of director’s for the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority. John is survived by his wife – Maynita of the home, daughters – Kim Horton and husband Jon of Purcell, OK, Kristi Freshwater and husband Dave of Bixby, OK. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his 5 grandchildren – Ashlee, Kyla, Connor, Sara, and Jacob as well as 2 great grandchildren – Hannah and Lillian.

Services will be held 10:00 AM Friday December 7, 2018 at the Wynnewood First United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Wayland Dancer. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood.
