Obituary for John Michael Ropar John M. Ropar Of Ross Township, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018. Beloved husband of 46 years to Shirley Ropar; loving father of Cathy (Rick) Bayles, John (Eileen) Ropar, Jr., Mary Louise (the late Ron) Abbott, Chris (Barbara) Ropar, Tom (Lori) Mackiewicz, Andrea (Blaise) Champagne and Kathy (Jim) McCaffrey; grandfather of twelve, great-grandfather of six; and brother of Florence (Bob) and the late Marcella, Dorothy, Chuck, Dolly and Denny. John was an Army Paratrooper during WWII, earning a Purple Heart and was a member of McArthur’s Honor Guard.

He graduated from Bellevue High School and earned a degree from the American Television Institute of Technology in Chicago. John was founder and co-owner of Penn Technical Institute and was considered by all as an electronics genius. He loved to golf and was a former member of the Sewickley Heights Golf Club.

John strove to see the good in all around him. He was a kind and loving person who adored his wife and his family. Funeral Mass at 10:30am on Friday, October 19, 2018 at St. Sebastian Parish, 311 Siebert Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
