Funeral for John Phillips, 69, of Decatur will be Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Parkway Funeral Home, at 4:00 PM with Rev. Doug Moody and Rev. Hal Daigre officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours before the service at the funeral home. Mr. Phillips, who died Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born, August 23, 1949, to Willie Phillips and Iris Isbell Phillips in Roscoe, TX.

He became the minister at First Church of the Nazarene after retiring from BP. He also served in the United States Marines. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister – Nancy Phillips Survivors include: Wife – Carol Brackin Phillips 2 daughters – Tammy (Rodney) Roberts and Cherish (Mario) Delgado Brother – Ray Phillips Sisters – Beth Peters and Martha Watson 5 grandchildren: Sarah (Zack) Wallace, Rachel (Austin) Allday, Jordan Delgado, Braden Delgado and Layla Delgado, 1 great grandchild: Luna Wallace.

Pallbearers will be Jorden Delgado, Braden Delgado, Kevin Linderman, Blake Linderman, Jason Linderman and Jeffery Coffey. Honorary pallbearer will be Winford Dutton.
